Creating Assignment Sheets -- BDS

In class today, I worked on preparing to write an assignment sheet.  It's for an assignment that I've never done before, and so I was kind of in the "waiting" and "exploring stage." I did some reading on the genre, read through a chapter in a textbook, and then did some mapping and brainstorming of how I thought the assignment could progress and how it could be broken into smaller chunks to emphasize process.  It was nice to get some preparation done in class.

When I got home, I did another BDS which was a bit longer and actually wrote the assignment sheet.  Before I wrote, I did more planning and reflecting, and once I felt like I had a general idea of what I was looking for, I started writing. I didn't feel entirely ready, but I got there :)

Then, I had a colleague read over what I had written and give me some feedback for revision (which was quite good feedback, I must say), and I revised.  I think I'll take another look tomorrow morning to see what I think after a day of good work.

Also, this morning I read from my WGST 1120 textbook for 20 minutes while I drank coffee.  I didn't get much read, but it was lovely.

In the next few days, I'd like to get more done for WGST 1120.  We have a meeting tomorrow, and I think that will help clear up some of my confusion.  I'd also like to get started on reading for Comps, perhaps not this week but the week after--right now the WGST 1120 online syllabus and the ENGL 2010 course that I am currently teaching take priority, but they can't forever.  I'm looking forward to it :)
